On December 22, 2018, the Honorable Chief United States District Judge Orlando L. Garcia entered an Order holding in abeyance all civil matters involving the United States, its agencies, officers, or employers as a party due to the lapse in congressional appropriations funding the federal government. The Order was sent by electronic service to all registered CM/ECF users and is available on the website for the Western District of Texas under "News & Announcements" (https://www.txwd.uscourts.gov/). The Commissioner of the Social Security Administration, an agency of the United States, is the named Defendant in this case. Accordingly, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the above-styled action is STAYED pending further Order of the Court. The stay applies to all events and deadlines in this case (whether established by order, rule, or agreement), including but not limited to any scheduled proceedings, hearings, and/or discovery and pleading dates. No party will be required to take any steps in this case until 1 expiration of the stay, except that this General Order does not affect rights to or deadlines concerning any appeal from any previous decision of this Court.
