FILED s 20\9 UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT WESTERN DISTRICT OF TEXAS SAN ANTONIO DIVISION - .1 D' CO9 UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, Plaintiff, NO. SA-19-CR-227-FB ALMA LUGO (1) ET. AL., Defendants. ORDER GRANTING MOTION TO EXTEND PRETRIAL DEADLINES AND FOR CONTINUANCE AND AMENDING SCHEDULING ORDER On this date, the Court considered the Defendant Alma Lucro's Motion to Extend Pretrial Deadlines and For a Continuance of Jury Trial. Having reviewed the Motion, the Court finds that the request for an extension of the pretrial deadlines and continuance of the trial is meritorious and should be granted. There not being a plea agreement filed nor a severance granted in this case, and in an effort to conserve judicial resources and in the interest of all parties, the Scheduling Order is amended as to all defendants listed in this cause of action. The Court finds that (1) Alma Lugo and (2) Josefina Garza, shall proceed with the same trial date schedule. Therefore, it is the opinion of this Court that the trial in this case should be and is continued and makes the following amended schedule: The deadline for notifying the Court of any plea agreement entered into by thepartiesinthiscauseis Aoye v- '1 20 I. The Court finds that the period between October 21, 2019 and he ey 9, 2019 is a reasonable period of necessary delay to allow counsel time for preparation for trial. The Court further finds that the interest ofjustice served by taking this action outweighs the best interest of the public and the defendants in a speedy trial and further finds that such period shall be excluded from the time within which the defendant must be brought to trial under the Speedy Trial Act pursuant to 18, United States Code, Section 3161(h)(7). All other provisions of the Amended Scheduling Order dated the 15th of July 2019 remain in full force and effect. IT IS SO ORDERED this,/Sdaof 1'çti.4', 2019. HO1 FRED BIERY A1S. DISTRICT JUDGE
